WARRANTIES AND RETURNS

All new firearms are warrantied by the manufacturer.  Commonwealth Arms is not a warranty repair station and we offer no warranty of any kind written or expressed.  If a new firearm is in need of warranty service we will be happy to advise you on where to return it for warranty service.  Commonwealth Arms will ship your gun back for you for a flat service charge of $40.00. All used guns are inspected by Commonwealth Arms to the best of our ability to determine that they function properly, however, all used firearms are sold as is.

GENERAL POLICIES

 

 

Commonwealth Arms is a federally licensed firearms dealer.  All state and federal laws apply to any firearms transfer.  Virginia residents must provide their drivers license or DMV issued ID card, non residents must also provide a second form of identification,  complete the federal form 4473, the state form SP-65, and pass a instant criminal background check before purchasing a firearm.  If you are prohibited by law from owning a firearm please do not waste your time or ours.  All in state sales are subject to 5.3% Virginia sales tax.

 

 

 

METHODS OF PAYMENT

 

 

Commonwealth Arms accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards, cashiers checks, money orders, and of course cash.  We accept personal checks in shop from Virginia and West Virginia residents only.  For mail order we will accept personal checks from all states, but we will hold them a minimum of 10 days to ensure that they clear before shipping

 

 

 

SPECIAL ORDERS

 

 

If Commonwealth Arms does not stock what you are looking for, we will gladly special order it for you.  Deliveries of special ordered firearms that are standard, common, catalogued models typically can be delivered in three to four business days.  Understand deliveries of specialty items can take much longer.  We deal with many distributors and each of them do a fine job of delivering product to us when it is available.  However, please understand that not all firearms, especially those that are not widely popular, are not available at all times.  We do our best to process special orders quickly.  Special orders require a nonrefundable deposit of 20% down when the order is placed.  The balance is due when the firearm arrives.  Special orders must be picked up within seven (7) business days of their arrival in our shop.  Failure to do so will result in the gun being returned or placed into inventory and forfeiture of your deposit.  Non firearm special orders will be added to the next regular order we place.  Commonwealth Arms cannot place a special order for a $10 item, it must be grouped with a regular order.  Many of our distributors have minimum order of $500.  Adhering to this allows us to keep prices as low as possible.  If you are planning to trade a firearm on a special ordered firearm we need to know about it before the order is placed.  If a special order is made under the agreement of a direct sale and the buyer shows up with a trade gun Commonwealth Arms reserves the right to refuse the trade.  If this policy seems strict understand that it must be, we have been "hung" with more than a few special ordered guns over the years.  Folks, read this closely, a special order shall not under any circumstances be treated as a layaway.  We are able to keep our prices low by not keeping money tied up.

 

 

 

INTERSTATE SHIPPING

 

 

Commonwealth Arms will gladly ship a firearm to any licensed dealer in the lower 48 states except for California due to the states idiotic dealer databasing law.  We charge a flat rate of $30.00 for rifles east of the Mississippi and $40.00 for rifles west of the Mississippi.  Handguns are shipped to any state for $20.00.  We must have a copy of the dealers FFL in order to ship.  We accept mailed, faxed, and E-Mailed copies.  For shipping to Alaska and Hawai please call for quote. We offer a three day non firing, no disassembly return policy on all shipped firearms less the cost of shipping both ways.  Please note that the three day inspection begins upon arrival of the firearm at you FFL.

 

 

 

LAYAWAYS

NEW LAYAWAY POLICY EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 1ST 2021.  Layaway will now only be available on NON ALLOCATED IN STOCK FIREARMS.  Layaway requires a deposit of 25%.   Two lay away options are available

 

OPTION ONE:  The layaway must be paid in full within 30 days of down payment with no interest.

 

OPTION TWO  The layaway must be paid in full within 90 days of down payment.  Interest charges will be added to the balance at 30 days, 60 days, and 90 days at a rate of 15%.  If the firearm is picked up within 30 days, not interest charges will be incurred.

 

Layaways will NOT be granted an extension under any circumstances.  Any layaway that is not picked up by the due date is subject to being returned to inventory with no refund due to the customer on any monies paid.  If you do pick up a layaway late that has been returned to inventory a 15% interest fee on the balance will be charged.

 

 

 

 

 

TRANSFERS

 

 

NEW TRANSFER POLICY IN EFFECT JANUARY 15, 2023 Commonwealth Arms will gladly transfer firearms from both other dealers and individuals.  Our transfer polices are listed below

1.  The buyer is responsible for setting up the transfer. Have the shipper EMAIL US for a copy of our FFL.

2. The sellers FFL or a copy of their VALID identification MUST be included with the firearm.

3.  Commonwealth Arms is not responsible for any shipping related damage or costs incurred do to a return.  If a return involves us doing ANYTHING ELSE other than repackaging it for a carrier we will collect a $25.00 service charge.

4. Transfer fee's are as follows.  Private Transfer between two individuals $25.00.  Interstate transfer of a USED firearm OR a new firearm that is either new old stock OR we do not have in stock or can order $25.00  Transfer of a NEW firearm that we have in stock OR can order $50.00.
